Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, and Bath: Day Tour from London
Why you should buy your ticket on Destinazione Magia.
Highlights
Explore Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath
Discover elegant and regal Windsor, a town rich in charm and history, before delving into the mystery of Stonehenge. Conclude your tour with a visit to the famous Roman Baths in beautiful Bath.
Windsor Castle
The majestic Windsor Castle stands on a green hill overlooking the Thames. Built in Norman times, with manicured gardens and a distinctive round tower, it continues to be the king's favorite weekend residence.
Inside, you can visit the opulent State Apartments, which house masterpieces by artists such as Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, as well as St. George's Chapel, the final resting place of monarchs including Henry VIII. Don't miss Queen Mary's Dolls' House, an extraordinary dollhouse complete with running water, working elevators, electricity, and even miniature wine bottles.
Stonehenge
Surrounded by an aura of mystery, Stonehenge continues to inspire wonder. But its true purpose remains a mystery: was it a solar temple, a healing center, a necropolis, or perhaps an ancient calendar? Even today, it amazes how prehistoric peoples transported and erected these enormous megaliths using rudimentary tools.
Bath
Nestled on the banks of the River Avon, Bath was the first English city to be recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its unique atmosphere is enhanced by its 15th-century Abbey, elegant Georgian architecture, and the romantic Pulteney Bridge, inspired by the Ponte Vecchio in Florence.
The Roman Baths and the Pump Room
The heart of Bath is the ancient Roman Baths, an extraordinarily well-preserved complex that still uses Britain's only natural thermal spring. At sunset (except in summer), you can witness the evocative lighting of the torches. In the elegant neoclassical Pump Room, you'll also have the opportunity to sample the city's healing waters.
